Off the Shoulder

Top - old (similar)
Skirt - Asos, old (similar here, here and here)
Heels - old (similar)

If you want to feel sexy and flirty without showing too much skin showing a bit of shoulder does the trick!  I felt really dressed up in this top and it wasn't my intention at all.  I would wear this look to a wedding or party, or dress the top down with some jeans and flats.

5 things I have learnt since becoming a mother

I remember last year on mothers day, I think I was about 6 months pregnant and Hubby said to me "This time next year it will be your first mothers day" and with a blink of an eye it's already here! A mother to a beautiful cheeky 8 month old.

Motherhood has been the biggest experience of my life, I have had the biggest highs, joys, tremendous amount of love and laughter, but it also comes with the a lot challenges and constant life adjustments.

Before I become a mum I really didn't comprehend how challenging motherhood was, all the mothers (superwomen) out there make it look so easy.  This is why mothers are the cornerstone of a household, we really do it all.

Here are 5 things I have learnt since becoming a mother:

1. Having a baby is a different kind of love.  I love my husband, siblings and parents, but the immense love you feel for your child is like no other! When their in pain your in pain, you can sit there and stare at them all day long and do anything to make them happy.

2.  Newborns take a lot of time and energy, but now Ava is older we have gotten into a routine.
In fact I have found having a baby makes me plan my time even better than I did before.  I have become more productive because I know any time Ava is a sleep or with her dad I need to use that time effectively, whether it be writing a blog post or doing chores.

3. Having a baby has made me even more motivated to achieve all the goals I have set for myself to ensure Ava has a great childhood.  Of course I was motivated before having a baby but sometimes self doubt would run riot in my mind.  Having a baby is always a constant reminder and big motivator that squashes any self doubt I had before, I'm not only doing it for myself but now I'm doing it for her too.

4. Since having a baby I feel more confident and care less about what people think.  I don't know if it's the liberation you feel after painfully pushing a baby out half naked in a room full of strangers! But if that's what it took for me to give less f&$ks I'm loving the new me!

I would love to hear how having a baby has impacted your life for the better? Happy mothers day to my yummy mummies out there!

Spring Neutrals

Jumper - Missguided
Bag - Asos, sold out (similar)
Heels - old (similar)
Trousers - Missguided, old (similar here and here)

It's officially spring yah!!  I feel like my photos look so much brighter now the sun has graced us with its presence, although it's still a little bit chilly.

I'm a big fan of colour but I also love neutral outfits.  I find neutral tones easier to put together quickly without putting to much thought into it.  If your not a fan of black clothes like me, neutral colours are the next best thing to throw on when your in a rush.

You might have noticed I'm loving a bit of sleeve detail, I really like the added fur detail on this jumper, it makes it appear more expensive than it actually is.  This is a perfect office outfit and great to wear for after work drinks too.

Ava hasn't made an appearance on the blog since my birth story! fast forward today she is almost 8 months old, seriously where does time go!  She's crawling everywhere at fast speed, dragging down every item in her way, I just love watching her grow but at the same time I want her to stay small forever, catch 22 huh..
