Burgundy Hues

 Skirt - Forever21
Top - Missguided
Heels - old (similar)

Hey guys, I'm finally back to blogging after a long hiatus.  It wasn't my intention to have a break for this long, but sometimes life happens and something has to give.  I'm so grateful for you guys  for sticking around!

This year has been somewhat of a roller coaster and I'm only starting to feel like my feet are firmly back on the ground.  I'm looking forward to getting back to doing the things I enjoy the most, one of those things being blogging and I hope you guys stick around for the ride :-)

Even though it was a bit windy today, I was so excited to get out and take photos of my outfit today. I stopped blogging in Summer and now all of a sudden its autumn, so I'm going to make the most out of dressing for this season even though I'm a spring/summer lover through and through.

This burgundy fit screams fall wear.  I saw this skirt while browsing Forever21 and feel in love with length, the pocket detail and side split, might I add I found this skirt to be too mature for Forever21,  But to my surprise they have been killing it lately, I recommend giving their website a look!

Luxemme - Ruched two piece

Ruched two piece - Luxemme
Heels - Missguided (similar)

Where did summer go?! As were slowly transitioning into fall it's the perfect time to wear pieces that would have been to fussy and sticky to wear during the warmer days.  This midi skirt and crop top set tick all the boxes.  With it's super soft fabric, this skirt hugs you in all the right places, mind you it might not be too forgiving after a hearty meal!

I straightened my hair recently and have noticed a bit of a growth sprout.  I'm about two years natural now and I'm really thinking about doing a mini chop and saying goodbye to my dry coloured ends. There is a saying that says 'health over length', but boy do I love my length! watch this space.

Why I love to Travel

Good morning guys, its been such a long week I'm so glad its Friday tomorrow.  If you have followed my blog for a while you know I love to travel, I have travelled to 15 countries in the last couple of years and I'm looking forward to travelling a lot next year now that the massive wedding expense is behind me.

This post in association with loveholidays.com on why us Brits love to go abroad, I wanted to write about what motivates me to go abroad.   Loveholidays.com sent me this cool scratch offworld map.  It was really fun scratching off the countries I have visited, I also realised how much more of the world I have yet to see!
I love going abroad so I'm always motivated to travel anyway, I love learning about new cultures, admiring architecture and learning about the story behind them, tasting new cuisines and as my photography interests are growing every day (thanks to blogging) I enjoy taking photographs of picture perfect scenery.
Another reason why I like to travel is to have a break from work, especially because I work in an office so I spend 8 hours of my day sitting in front of a computer screen, it becomes very routine and boring.  It’s also a great time for me and Lewis to spend some quality time together exploring and enjoying each other away from every day distractions.
As a Brit the main reason I go away is to get away from the British weather! We haven’t had much of a summer this year.  When researching where to travel the weather is normally the deciding factor for me, as you can see on the map the countries I have been to are normally scorching hot.  I have never really thought about getting out of my comfort zone and going to a colder climate but I would love to try skiing.
When it comes to preparing for my flight I normally try to have my suitcase packed at least two days before I fly, but I leave my suitcase open until travel day just in case I have extra items to throw in!  I have learnt the hard way when it comes to toiletries, it really hurts when airport security throw away your expensive shampoos and creams without even a flinch of guilt! Arrgh. So now I make sure to pack all my toiletries in miniature bottles (you can also buy mini versions from boots or Superdrug).
A trick I have learnt when I run out of space in my suit case or reached my baggage allowance is to take a mini suitcase as hand baggage.  I use to take a regular handbag enough to fit my passport, wallet and a book to read, but I soon realised I wasn't taking advantage of the extra items I could bring with me, but I only do this for longer holidays.  In this case I would take a small clutch bag so I can access my passport and cash quickly.

What do you enjoy about travelling? Do you have any tips to make travelling easier? I would love to hear them.

Links of London

Hey guys, I hope you had a good bank holiday weekend.  I stayed at home and used the extra day to catch up with myself.  I watched the Nottinghill Carnival one TV, despite the rain all weekend I really considered going out and enjoying the festivities! I haven't been to Carnival for 15 years, so its definitely on my 'to do' list for next year.

I thought I would do a separate post on my Links of London Bracelet.  I love it when I receive an item in beautiful packaging almost to the point that I don't want to open it and just leave it looking pretty ha ha, I hope I'm not the only one that's like that!

I'm really into minimal jewellery right now, so this bracelet fits right in with my little growing collection of jewellery.

Links of London & Asos dress

Dress - Asos
Bracelet -c/o  Links of London
Heels - Matalan

Hey guys, I hope your all well and enjoying summer, well what's left of it! I took some time out but I'm excited to be back.

The weather is really weird at the moment, its raining a lot, but at the same time quite humid so its quite difficult to decide what to wear!

I teamed up with Links of London for this post.  How gorgeous is my bracelet! it's a bit hard to see from these pictures, but I have my middle name Regina engraved on it.  I have always wanted my name engraved on a necklace or bracelet, but have never got round to doing it.

Asos has just announced their sale, never a good idea for the bank balance! I couldn't resist this colour dress before summer is officially out.

All White

London has been blessed with wonderful sunny weather, I was baking hot when I took these pictures on Saturday.

This skirt is a fave of mine, I last wore it in this post for a wedding I attended last year and haven't worn it since.  Its too nice to dress down and slightly heavy so I only wear it on special occasions.

I missed out on these Asos heels last year when they first came out in green if I recall, but I like the pink better so the wait was worth it.

I hope your all well and as always thanks for visiting. x

Off the Shoulder

Although its been really chilly today, London was graced with beautiful weather over the weekend.  Just in time for my nieces 14th birthday dinner.  I wanted to look simple but nice, after all half the guest's that came to her dinner were in Joggers and trainers! typical teenagers.

At the moment I'm trying to invest in the basic pieces, you can create so many outfits when your pieces are minimalist. Don't get me wrong I still love my bold colours and patterns, but its hard to wear bold pieces multiple times in a month without someone thinking you never change clothes!

Wedding pictures and Video

Hey guys, finally I get to share my wedding pictures with you and a short film.  It's been so hard going through all the pictures to pick my favourites, as I don't have a one, I love them all!! This was such a special day for me, looking back after two months of being married now it feels weird re living the day, it feels like it was a year ago.

This day was so special to me for many reasons, of course every girl dreams of that big day.  I don't really get personal on my blog, but sharing these pictures with you I guess there is a first for everything.  My dad died when I was 5 years old and my world came crashing down when my mum died when I was 10 years old.  I was also the only mixed race person in my generation on both my parents side (I do have full Ugandan siblings), so growing up was very tough dealing with the loss of my parents and feeling like the odd one out.  I always thought I wouldn't be able to cope without my parents being there to see me graduate, get married etc.  But getting married has reminded me how truly blessed I'am to have a family that adores me.  They have given me all the love and support in the world and if it wasn't for them I wouldn't have gotten this far.  I was lucky to live with my mums younger sister, whom was already my second mum anyway and was blessed with even more brothers and sisters.

I hope you enjoy the pictures and video.
