Monochrome Stripes

 Muscle Tee- Nasty Gal
Trousers - old (similar here)
Belt - old (similar here and here)

You can't go wrong with a monochrome look, monochrome colours make it so much easier to put an outfit together without having to put too much thought into whether the colours will go together or not.

For this look I paired my favourite stripe wide leg trousers with the ever so popular muscle tee and to elevate this look even more I added my thick waist belt, I feel like it really turned a nice outfit into an amazing one!

Black and White Stripes - H&M and Nasty Gal

Skirt - H&M old
Heels - Love Riad
Top - Nasty Gal

I bought this skirt a couple of years ago and I remember trying it on and it wouldn't zip up, I was so disappointed as it was the last one in store, so I kept it and vowed I would lose weight into it that year.  This was maybe 4/5 years ago and it never fit! So I found it at the back of my wardrobe still brand new and I still loved it as much as I did back then and guess what? it fits!! 2 pregnancies later.

This skirt is beautifully structured and the material is really thick.  This outfit would make a great work outfit with flats and then great for work drinks with the heels I have styled it with, which are super comfortable might I add.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Exaggerated Sleeves

Top - Asos (matching skirt)
Shorts - old (similar)
Flats - here, here and here

The sun has decided to do a disappearing act, but I'm enjoying styling up some spring outfits either way.  how gorgeous is this exaggerated off the shoulder top?! I saw it on Asos and put it in my basket so fast.  The top has a matching skirt which I could have sworn I also put in my basket but when my package arrived it wasn't there.  I definitely plan on ordering the skirt too, but in the meantime I have styled it with my paper bag shorts and love how this outfit turned out.

Buckle Skirt and Shoulder Pad Top

Happy Saturday guys! I haven't been on the blog since pre-lockdown in the UK which was all the way back in March now, how time flies!  I hope you have all been keeping well and safe.  I have been really active on my Instagram and Youtube, but I have really missed posting over on the blog.  I felt like I needed really professional outside photos to be able to post here, but I have found it so enjoyable creating indoor content and it's actually made me realise how much I enjoy it.  I now see that being a perfectionist has been holding me back from creating content in a different type of way to what I'm use to and getting my creative juices flowing.  Being on lockdown has really pushed me out of my comfort zone which I didn't realise I needed!

So I promise I will be posting a lot more looks here alongside lifestyle content which I have wanted to do for a while now.  So I'm loving this outfit, I found this skirt hidden in my wardrobe, it's a real gem.  I bought it about 3 years ago, sadly it's a bit big on my waist now, well I guess that's a good thing, but I'm not ready to let go of the skirt just yet. I paired it with this on trend boxy basic top, I love that it has shoulder pads in it which gives the top so much definition.

The Elan Cafe - Is it Worth a Visit?

This year I vowed to start exploring London more, experience new restaurants and cafes and to be a tourist in my own city.  So I have decided to document and review some of the new places I visit.

First on my list is Instagram famous Elan Cafe, you can't deny how pretty their cafes are and of course very instagrammable.  They have grown to 7 branches already. I chose to visit the Park Lane branch as it was the easiest to travel to from South London, I did regret picking that branch a little bit, see why below when I get into the review a bit more.

The Decor

Undeniably pretty and eye catching, the cafe is beautifully decorated in every corner possible. As we entered the cafe we were greeted with the till area and just past that, there was a flower wall near the stairs where you can take photos, it was a bit of an awkward place to take photos as people were walking up and down.  As we walked downstairs there were flower walls near the tables and also flowers around cute mirrors they had displayed on the walls.

So the one issue I did have was how small the cafe was, It is next to the Dorchester hotel so most if not all the customers were tourist, I can imagine how busy it gets in there. We got there at 12pm and managed to get a seat.  In terms of getting a picture perfect photo it would be a struggle if there were a lot of customers in there.

The Food

The food was delicious! I ordered a flat bread with egg and salmon which cost £9.50, so a little bit on the pricey side.  As I was meeting my friend for brunch I decided not to have breakfast which was a big mistake because the flat bread did not fill me up at all.  I ended up splitting a red velvet cake which was about £7 with my friend.  So as you can see these aren't your regular every day prices but you are paying for the location and popularity of the cafe so I felt like it was worth it as a treat.

The Service

The service I felt was quite rushed, it wasn't particularly busy when I went but I felt like they wanted you to quickly order, eat and leave.  I didn't feel relaxed, I don't know about you but If I'm meeting a friend in a cafe to have brunch then obviously we were intending to have a big old catch up and take our time! Not to say their staff were horrible but they just seemed rushed off their feet even when it wasn't busy.  It wasn't that bad to put me off but definitely keep that in mind.

My overall thoughts

I enjoyed the experience and the food, I wouldn't go back to that particular cafe as I felt it was too small, I will definitely try out a bigger branch and hope the customer service is a bit more warm then in Park Lane.  But if you're close by it's definitely worth popping in.  I also vlogged the trip to Elan Cafe which you can watch here to see it in action!

White Ruched Dress

Dress - Femme Luxe
Heels - old (similar)

This dress and hair style has me feeling like I should be on a tropical island on my way to a beach wedding! Although maybe white is not the colour of choice for a wedding guest dress, even so that is the vibe I'm getting.

I really like the style of this dress it's really classic and timeless, I like the ruching which is also great for hiding a food baby lol. The arm strap adds that little bit of extra detail too.

If you want to see how this dress looks like in motion it actually features in a recent haul I did on my channel here.

Here's to 2020!! My Blogging Goals

Jeans - old
Heel - Boohoo
White top - FemmeLuxe

Hello my lovely readers, a Big Happy New Year to you all! I just want to start off by saying thank you for following along, to all my new readers and old, I'm so grateful.  I started my blog 9 years ago, I can't believe it's been that long.  I'm happy to have started before blogging was a thing, even before Instagram, before Youtube was ever a career. It's been nice to be there from the start and see how big the industry has grown.

This year I really want to do a lot more blogging, still blogging my outfits, but also blog more about my lifestyle, motherhood, experiences, fun things to do in London etc.  I want you guys to get to know me more.  So I hope that sounds good and I'm looking forward to what 2020 has to bring.  Also if you want to see more of me, my personality and my girls, please head over to my Youtube channel too.

So on to the outfit, I haven't been able to wear jeans in probably over a year due to my pregnancy (I didn't buy pregnancy jeans) I also had to be patient whilst I worked on losing the weight I gained around my stomach.  So this look makes me happy, I missed wearing jeans so much.  I love this flirty white shirt from FemmeLuxe, it adds a lot of glam to a simple outfit.

Have a lovely evening everyone xx
